Adespotoulia Xanthi, They Are Still Waiting…

In the north of Greece, in Xanthi, there is a place filled with quiet hope.

Behind every fence, every pair of eyes, there is a life waiting to begin again.
A dog who once had a home… or never had one at all.
A soul who still believes that someone, somewhere, will come.

Our Story

More than 15 years ago, Anna Maria Zafeiriadou refused to look away.

She took in the dogs no one wanted—the injured, the abandoned, the forgotten.
What began with just a few rescues became Angel’s Garden: a sanctuary built on compassion, resilience, and love.

Today, a small team of seven carries that mission forward.
Every single day. Without pause. Without guarantee. But always with hope.

What We See Every Day

This is not a perfect world.
This is reality.

A dog who flinches when you raise your hand… but slowly learns that not every touch hurts.
An injured cat fighting through pain, just to survive another day.
Puppies left behind before they ever had a chance.
Older dogs—loyal, gentle souls—who are overlooked simply because of their age.

And yet… they still wag their tails.
They still look at us with trust.
They still hope.

Why They Need You

We can rescue them.
We can care for them.
We can heal their wounds.

But we cannot give them what they long for most:

A home.
A person.
A life beyond the shelter.

That part… can only come from you.

Your Chance to Change a Life

Adoption is not just taking a dog.
It is giving a second chance to a life that almost lost everything.

When you adopt, you are not just gaining a companion—
you are becoming the reason that tail wags again…
the reason those eyes finally rest without fear…
the reason a story changes from survival to love.

If You Cannot Adopt

Not everyone can open their home—but you can still open your heart.

We rely entirely on donations to continue:

  • providing urgent medical care
  • feeding hungry animals every day
  • keeping them safe from harm
  • and rescuing those who still haven’t been found

Every contribution, no matter how small, keeps hope alive here.

One Decision Can Change Everything

Somewhere in our shelter, there is a dog waiting right now.

Waiting for a name.
Waiting for a touch.
Waiting for you.

Don’t let them wait forever.
